Recently displayed during Cré Collective Launch, Création - Arts For All, Belfast

My work is heavily inspired by organic forms, this piece is inspired by Gogottes, the patterns that naturally occur in gemstones, and the forms created through hand-building. While this piece is inspired by naturally forming Gogottes the form ending up having five “points” that resulted in the sculpture feeling personified. 

The stained clay used in this piece was directly inspired by the colours and placement present in gemstones. The gloss surface not only protects the piece while outdoors but also was chosen because of how it will reflect light. 

When placed in an outdoor space surrounded by foliage the light is intended to interact with the sculpture, reflecting and interacting with the curved of the piece.
